Content creation: Make me famous

Not so long ago, it was literally only the famous icons of the world of music and film who were recognized as celebrities. Well, not anymore. Today almost anybody can be famous and idolized. The rapid expansion of social media platforms just made this the most accessible industry in the world! At the click of a button, we are able to dive into the world of just about anybody who is able to do probably anything for the price of almost nothing. From the biggest cities in the United States of America to the smallest villages in Indonesia, people are fast becoming celebrities as the world scrolls through their profiles to watch their content!

What exactly does it take to do all of this? Well, someone recently made a joke and said, “You just need to be bored!” We might laugh, but there are literally millions out there who create content simply because they have nothing to do. However, there are authentic and very talented content creators who have made it to fame status through their cunning creative abilities to have their audiences glued to the screen.

Content creation make me famous

One such personality who went from a nobody to the most followed person on TikTok is Senegalese social media celebrity Khabane Lame, with a staggering one hundred and sixty-eight million followers! And he literally never spoke on his videos! Go check him out to see what I mean [if you are not familiar with him]. It is obvious that content creation is a very lucrative industry, and people are cashing in on even endorsements. I have watched a few creators come and go here in the Northern Cape. Others have stuck it out and are still going. Not a lot of people possess the ability to endure the hours of filming and editing and even experience the dried-up creative juices. Locally, there is a lot of potential to become a content creator, and so much remains untapped.

Consistency is the key, and it takes a lot of discipline. I recently had the opportunity to speak to one of the Northern Cape’s most recognized content creators, DJ Stacey, who went on to become more than a DJ. The former radio presenter took to TikTok to share her sense of humor while addressing social ills and other topics. Eventually, she became a strong voice as she started using her platform to call out corruption and poor service delivery. Her audience grew, and this later landed her in parliament as an official member of the house! Not to mention Ouma Sarie, who even landed her own television show!
So, whether you sing or dance or just tell jokes, you can no longer complain about not being given an opportunity! There are a lot of platforms out there for you to take your talent or even ordinary life and turn it into a show. Whether you are good at cooking, doing nails, woodwork, or just giving advice, you are able to build a brand through content creation. Even the fact that the internet is so easily accessible to
anyone counts in your favor. Admittedly, not everyone has a huge following from the onset, but that is exactly how every business works. Content creation has the ability to take your world to the world, and vice versa. So grab your smartphone and start filming.

We are waiting to scroll through your world!
